Fish processing equipment

Fish processing machinery spare parts for factories and factory vessels

Wear parts, knives, drives, freezing and fishmeal plant components sourced by machine type, serial number and parts-catalogue reference — for onshore plants and factory trawlers.

Processing equipment sourcing

One supplier contact for a processing line built by many makers

A typical whitefish or pelagic processing operation combines machines from several manufacturers: heading, filleting and skinning machines, trimming and grading equipment, conveyors and packing, plate and blast freezers, refrigeration plant, pumps and water treatment, and — in fishmeal and fish oil plants — cookers, presses, decanters, separators and dryers. Each has its own parts catalogue, lead times and supply channels.

Passat Gear Trade sources spare and wear parts for that equipment by machine type, serial number and catalogue reference, for onshore factories and for factory decks on freezer trawlers. Brand names such as BAADER, OPTIMAR, Alfa Laval, Sabroe and Bitzer are used here only to identify equipment.

Regional focus

Hake and pelagic processing in Namibia and South Africa

Namibia's hake industry processes much of its catch ashore, in filleting factories in Walvis Bay and Lüderitz supplied by wetfish trawlers. In South Africa, hake factories operate in Cape Town, Gansbaai, Mossel Bay and Gqeberha, freezer trawlers in both fleets run filleting lines on board, and pelagic catches are canned or reduced to fishmeal and fish oil on the West Coast.

Passat Gear Trade is an independent sourcing company. Brand names are used for identification purposes only. No formal brand relationship is claimed unless confirmed in writing for a specific supply.

FAQ

Fish processing machinery parts — common questions

What identifies a fish processing machine part most reliably?

The machine type number and serial number from the nameplate, plus the page and position number from the machine's parts catalogue. For knives, guides and rollers, also tell us the fish species and size range the line is set up for, and send a photo of the worn part next to a ruler.

Do you supply original BAADER or other manufacturer parts?

Where original parts are available through the manufacturer's or a distributor's channel we quote them as such. Where a buyer asks for alternatives, or a part is no longer produced, we may offer an equivalent — clearly identified on the quotation. Passat Gear Trade is independent and not an authorised distributor of the brands named here unless confirmed in writing for a specific supply.

Can you quote a full set of seasonal wear parts?

Yes. Many plants order knives, belts, bearings, seals and nozzles as a set before a season or shutdown. Send last season's list or your plant spare-parts list and we quote line by line with lead times.

Do you service or repair processing machines?

No. We source and ship parts. Installation, adjustment and repair stay with your own engineers, the machine manufacturer or a local workshop.

Do you work with plants outside Southern Africa?

Yes. This page is relevant to any onshore plant or factory vessel. We have written dedicated pages for Namibia and South Africa because of the size of their hake and pelagic processing sectors.

Request a quotation for processing machinery parts

Send the machine type, serial number and catalogue positions, or attach your plant spare-parts list. We review every request before quoting and reply by email.

Send your equipment model or part numberOne line per item is enough to start. Add the maker and model if you do not have a part number.
Send us your parts listDocking lists, maintenance lists and spreadsheets are welcome — attach them or email them to sales@passatgear.com.
Need a hard-to-find marine spare part?A nameplate photo, drawing or measured old part lets us start a search even when the original number is superseded.

You will receive a reply by email. We do not use your details for anything other than handling the inquiry — see our privacy policy.

Attach files (optional)

Useful attachments: nameplates, old offers, part lists, drawings, photos, old invoices or previous supply documents. The form accepts up to 8 MB in total — send larger files or longer parts lists to sales@passatgear.com.
